Written By Unknown on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 | 8:24 PM

For $155 million dollars in cash, DreamWorks Animation has acquired the complete Classic Media library, a diverse compilation of some well-known television properties that could be the basis for many possible franchise movies to come.  DreamWorks also announced that it will be building a new theme park in New Jersey's Meadowlands as well as an ambitious entertainment, shopping, and dining district in Shanghai, China.

How will DreamWorks use its new characters, many of which are already household names and the rest of which are ripe for rebooting? DreamWorks already has had hits with Shrek and Madagascar, but now they have a cornucopia of possible new hits.
