It's good to see so many family-friendly, live theatrical productions out there. My wife took our three-year-old daughter along with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law to see the Gazillion Bubble Show and as the name suggests there were a whole lot of bubbles floating from the stage. Along with laser light effects, smoke machines, and a bunch of impressive bubble-making tricks, it all added up to a visually kaleidoscope of fun.
There is also an amzing touring show by Dreamworks called How to Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular based on the recent movie that happens to be one of my daughter's favorites. With larger than life animatronic dragon creatures, it looks like a sight to behold, and if it's faithful to the movie, the storyline is one of the best. I still haven't seen it, but if I could I would.
Broadway has some musicals running that should thrill the entire family -- Mary Poppins, The Lion King, and others. There's also plenty of Off-Broadway entertainment, such as the long-running Blue Man Group.
Look for some deals and take the loved ones to see a show. Live theater can be so much more engaging than anything you would see on a screen.
