This year's Upfront Market is almost over. Now it's time to look at the slate of new shows coming to CBS. I have to confess that I'm not very excited about what the Eye Network has in store. I think there will likely be more buzz surrounding their returning programs, such as Survivor's new location in the South Pacific and Ashton Kutcher joining the cast of Two and a Half Men now that Charlie Sheen is gone.
Maybe I'm wrong and one of these new series will become a huge hit:
2 Broke Girls - This sitcom stars Kat Dennings of Thor alongside Beth Behrs as two waitresses trying to raise money to start their own business.
A Gifted Man - A surgeon starts getting advice from his deceased wife in this drama starring Patrick Wilson, Jennifer Ehle, and Julie Benz.
How to Be a Gentleman - Here's another comedy centerting on the typical storyline of an odd couple friendship, starring David Hornsby, Kevin Dillon, and Dave Foley.
Person of Interest - This is the only show on this list that somewhat interests me. Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson star as an ex-C.I.A. agent believed to be dead and a mysterious billionaire who team up to battle crime. It's produced by J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk of Lost and Jonathan Nolan of Memento.
Unforgettable - A former police detective with a flawless memory tries to solve her sister's murder.
Comedytime Saturday - CBS is planning to also air reruns of some its comedies on Saturday nights.
To give CBS credit, it has a cool looking drama set for mid-season:
The 2-2 - Despite its stupid title, this show centers on NYPD rookies in upper Manhattan with an ensemble cast that includes Leelee Sobieski and Adam Goldberg. And get a load of this -- it's produced by Robert DeNiro.
Tune in tomorrow as we wrap up the week with a look at the new shows from the CW.
