How will CBS's new season compare to the ones announced already by ABC, NBC, and FOX? Here is what's coming down the pike in the fall for the nation's number one network. Is it enough to keep them on top of the ratings?
Elementary - Johnny Lee Miller plays a modern-day Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu plays Watson. Sounds contrived, but CBS has proven it knows how to produce crime procedurals. This could be fun.
Made in Jersey - A street-smart lawyer played by Entourage's Janet Montgomery tries to hold her own against the more elitist colleagues in her firm. Sounds dull to me, but it also stars actor Kyle MacLachlan, whose career choices I've always liked, so who knows?
Partners - Two childhood buds have their friendship tested when one of them gets engaged.
Vegas - This one sounds really promising. Dennis Quaid plays a rancher in conflict with a Sin City gangster, played by Michael Chicklis. The cast also includes Jason O'Mara (Terra Nova) and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix).
Friend Me (midseason) - Young guys from the Midwest try to start new lives in Los Angeles. Bah.
Golden Boy (midseason) - This drama follows the trials and tribulations of the youngest police commissioner in New York City history.
The Job (midseason) - CBS has a reality show in the wings, hosted by The View's Lisa Ling. Competitors try to win a dream position in a prestigious corporation.
Tomorrow, I'll look at what the final broadcast network, the CW, has to offer.
