Spielberg's Long-Awaited Abraham Lincoln Movie

Steven Spielberg is one of the greatest directors of all time, able to make light-hearted, family-friendly fantasy classics and dramatic historic masterpieces.  One film that he has been developing for the longest time, which finally seemed to be nearing fruition, is the biopic of America's sixteenth President, Lincoln.  He has been rumored to want to make a movie about this for decades, and finally he has the rights to the book Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln by Doris Kearns Goodwin.

Spielberg hasn't even shot a single frame of footage yet, but the buzz is strong that this may sweep all major awards after it finally hits the big screen.  If the cast is any indication, we are in for a motion picture for the ages: Daniel Day-Lewis as Abraham Lincoln, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as his son Robert Todd Lincoln, Tommy Lee Jones as Congressman Thaddeus Stevens, Sally Field as Mary Todd Lincoln, and a long list of terrific actors, such as Hal Holbrook, James Spader, John Hawkes, Tim Blake Nelson, Bruce McGill, Joseph Cross, and others.

Expectations are high and I join the many Spielberg fans hoping it lives up to the hype.
